I’m surprised by the response to this painting. I’ve been getting great compliments. I struggled with the sky for a bit, not feeling sure I liked it, and forged forward with painting endless curves until it was complete. The grass was one of the most magical and winding experiences I’ve had with paint and I think it went swimmingly. Setting off the lighter grass tones really topped it off for me.

The image depicts a woman or man at the top of a grassy bluff looking off to their left. The color scheme and motion give the painting a feeling like it’s set along an ocean. The circular expansion/contraction of the sky gives the feel like the person is moving through a portal or the sky is radiating in colored waiving stripes.
